It's a lot but i need some answers, what do you think?!!?!??!?

I talked about sharp shooting pains in my last few questions...one being right by my right ear. Got a cat scan of my head, looks fine. Now my cheek is puffy in a large area and kinda feels funny when i talked or move it at all. It feels like theres something in there when i push on it. Can this only be a dental thing? Or can this happen from some other infection? Im in pain still and i think i need antibiotics. Also, It seems to become more noticable after i smoke a cigarette...could that be affecting my muscle or nerve from the sucking? I thought before i had migraines then an ear infection and now a dental problem...I just need some opinions...is this all related? I dont have insurance, how much would it be if i went to the dental office for an emergency exam? Would they see me? I know its a lot of questions...but ive been suffering from all this for quite some time and im sick of it.

It's a lot but i need some answers, what do you think?!!?!??!?
Maybe you can go to a free clinic. It sounds like it could be from a tooth infection, and infections can be serious. You don't need to see a dentist about an infection, a doctor should be able to diagnose it and prescribe you some antibiotics if that's the case. Pleeeeease do all that you can to stop smoking. Take this as a warning. Life is already SO SHORT and we only get one shot at it. Why risk taking years off your life with something so silly? It's a tough battle, but there are all sorts of things to help you get through it if cold turkey's not an option. Join an online group for support. It's easier to do things like that when you've got someone to talk to. Doctors will also be more encouraged to help you when they see you're taking your health seriously.

Reply:Yay!=) Good luck! Report It

Reply:first things first, get insurance.

some of this may be caused by stress, and STOP smoking!!!

that stuff will kill ya.

after that see a good doc, ask around.
Reply:It could be a swollen gland. Also, it could be an infection deep in your inner ear, or in the mastoid area(cyst).

Silly question: Why would you get a CAT scan first if you have no insurance?
Reply:I would call around and get some prices from dental offices, try the ones that are dentists that are recommended from the people you trust because so many out there are not reliable and will do what they can to just take your money. There is good honest dentists out there. Yes, it does sound like a dental problem, at least it happened here, same symptoms, you may have an abscess or need a root canal done. You should be able to get in to see a dentist with a day or so. Being in pain, they seem to put you ahead of routine appointments. You will need an X Ray done of your teeth and gums, the dentist will show these to you and point out the problem right then and there. Get it done, it will get worse if you don't. In the meantime, use ibuprofen. It is best for an inflammatory. The cigarettes will aggravate your problem just like eating or talking or cold air etc. I bet you have a bad tooth in the rear of your mouth. been there, it is miserable!!!!! Feel for you. Good Luck! P.S. initial appointment should not be that much as for the rest of the treatment, most good dentists would be happy to put you on a payment plan. I bet you have an infection in the gum line!
Reply:Hey where I live there's free clinics and Charity Care, You should get yourself checked, the bottom part of my jaw gets really swolen cause of a wisdom tooth that gets infection every now and then and I get an ear infection,
Reply:This company will give you a discount up to 80% off.
