Dental Insurance?
You must have an HMO plan wich really sucks, that's why they won't see you soon. Like the previous dr. answered , they must see you as an emergency and they MUST take you out of pain. It's hard to tell what treatment you need with the info you wrote, but make SURE they give you ALL your options before doing any treatment. It's hard to get good treatment and attention @ western dental, specially if you have an HMO plan.
Reply:Don't assume they will pull the tooth. First get yourself in to be seen. From your symptoms it seems likely that if the tooth can be saved you will need a root canal first. Their duty at the emergency visit is first and foremost to get you out of pain. No one is going to strap you down and force you to have the tooth extracted. But first you must determine whether the tooth is in good enough shape to merit saving.

Good luck,
