What's the best medical insurance for a 20 yr old?

I'm almost 20 yr and I don't have medical insurance. I want to get one because in case I have an accident I don't want to be in debt for the rest of my life. I go to college, so I don't make a lot of money. It doesn't really matter if it doesn't cover dental. I just want it to cover emergencies. Which insurance do you recomend me? I live in the United States.

Most colleges make available some sort of health insurance for your situation. It will cover illnesses and accidents and tends to be reasonable in price. Check with the Student Services people to see if you can buy it.

Also, call the state insurance commissioner and see if your state allows the sale of low income insurance that is stripped of mandates (drug and alcohol rehab, mental health counseling, etc) and who sell it
Reply:Medicaid....I am 23 years old...I work full time and go to school full time....In 2007 I was rushed to the hospital because my appendix erupted!!..I was in excruciating pain. As soon as i got to hospital the doctors took me to the operating room and remove the appendix...after the operation i got an "infection"...had to stay in hospital for about 7 more days under doctors and nurse supervision...my bill came out to 90,000 dollars!!! I applied for medicaid and it covered everything from ambulance trip to breakfast, lunch, and dinner at hospital...Now I am a happy camper!!!..working out 5 days a week and staying strong!!..i still have medicaid....finally my tax money working for me.
Reply:I use a great agency for my health insurance. They have it set up online where I can go in from time to time and check the rates of all the other companies and even change companies if I want to get a better rate. They usually help me with my application because I am not real computer savy. They are located at http://www.lvhealthins.com You can shop online 24/7
