Debt collector- medical bill?

I have a friend who had emergency dental surgery about a year ago. At the time he was told that his insurance would cover it. Low and behold, his insurance company denied the claim. He now has over $5000 in debt that he CANNOT afford to pay. He is a working -class single father and gets most of his income raped from his ex-wife each month. He has also had debt collectors calling him non-stop for the past year until about a month ago-they stopped.





What will happen in this case? Have they just forgotten about it, or what?

could he just pay $50 a month?
Reply:Do not pay them! They're crooks. Pay it their damn selves.
Reply:if the debt collectors get no response from him they may take it as he is ignoring us. they will send him a subpeona to appear in court. He will get sued for the amount that he owes plus leagal fees. Debt collectors never forget.
