Have you ever had a dental emergency just before Christmas?

Were you able to get an appointment or did you have to wait until the New Year?

Have you ever had a dental emergency just before Christmas?
If this were to happen, I would go directly to my local hospital. If you let it wait until your dentist returns, it can lead to serious health problems. If there is a dentist on call, the hospital will call for him/her. If not, the hospital would give you a prescription to antibiotics and/or pain meds.
Reply:My dentist is a great Ohio State alumnus (just like me) and he came to the office just to fix my tooth. GO BUCKS!
Reply:Yes, a Hospital emergency room can probably give you something for infection/pain untill you can get to a dentist.

At least it will get you through the worst.

Nothing hurts worse than a bad tooth.
Reply:Do not wait. Your holidays will be miserable. I had an "emergency' on New Year's Eve afternoon - shattered 2 wisdom teeth by biting into a potato chip (really!). I called my dentist and he saw me right away and I spent New Year's Eve having my wisdom teeth extracted. Whine and cry, if necessary. Most dentists will see you in case of emergency.
Reply:What awful timing that would be. I don't know what I would do.
Reply:not problem just put the false teeth in a jar and live of soup and jelly and of course wine!!!
Reply:I have a great dentist who is almost always able to get me in.
Reply:I think the ER is the best bet, seems like a lot of dentists do not want to disrupt their holiday.

Dental pain is the worst! I am so sorry for you
Reply:A good dentist will come in for you.. or at least call and let you know what you should do... This happened to a family member one Thanksgiving Holiday..
Reply:Yes.....no dental appts. People doing it to get their deductions in before the 1st. I had to go to the ER.
