Dental Stitches Left In (EMERGENCY MAYBE?)?

My mom got stitches (might have been disolvable) after getting some teeth pulled. The gum is healed and she pulled one stitch and thought that was it so she didn't go back to get the stitches removed. Now a few weeks later, she says the stitches feel like there is gum grown over the stitches. The stitches aren't visible and there's a ridged piece of gum where the stitches were. What should she do?

Dental Stitches Left In (EMERGENCY MAYBE?)?
ooooooooooooo tell her i said get well soon
Reply:Go back to the dentist. The only way you'll be able to find out for sure is through a dental exam.

Best
Reply:Call the dentist office and ask if they were dissolvable. If they weren't she needs to be seen by the dentist(not an emergency). If they were dissolvable she doesn't . The ridge is just scar tissue most likely.
Reply:almost all dental stitches now will dissolve it my just be a place where the gums have scared but she may want to go in and have it checked out because it can turn into an abscess if it has been grown over or at least have her call the dentist and see how many stitches she had. to be sure there is not still one in her mouth best of luck to the two of you! hope she feels better!
Reply:Go back and make sure that all the stitches were removed, it is not an immediate emergency, but you should get it done Monday.
