Does anyone know of a way to get emergency dental assistance?

My husband does not qualify for health insurance due to a heart attack he had last year. He is only 41. His teeth are badly infected, from past health problem. He had cancer when he was 24 and the treatments are not good on your teeth. When he had this heart attack the doctor told him that he needed to take care of his teeth immediately or he would suffer another heart attack. We are desperate, cant afford to do this on our own as with a cancer patient you just cant have your teeth pulled they have to be surgically removed and only so many at a time.

Does anyone know of a way to get emergency dental assistance?
I agree with MK, as a practicing dentist I know that there are oral surgeons that work with public assistance (DFCS) in almost every state that should be able to help you out with your situation. Infected teeth (Abscessed Teeth) are extremely dangerous and can be very life threatening if not treated as this infection can spread to the throat causing airway obstructions, and can also spread to the heart and brain causing sometimes fatal complications. I highly recommend calling your county Dept of Family and Childrens Services and ask about dental care, if they are not able to answer your questions they will find you someone that will.
Reply:WoW your husband has been through a lot! An Oral Surgeon would be your best bet, safest that is for sure. Some Oral Surgeons do work with public assistance and you can give the ones in your area a call to find out. Something as important as this I would hate to see you go to clinic that may not take all the precautions your husband needs. Hospitals may be able to help direct you to a grant program based on income/hardships, but again it requires research on your part. Good luck! Once your husband has those bad teeth removed, if there are any teeth remaining he should also have fluoride treatments to help keep those teeth as solid as possible, especially while undergoing cancer treatment. Wish you the best!!!!
Reply:Ok this takes thought and research so let's get started. Let's say you try calling your state medicaid office first and they will pre qualify you and or provide direction and available reesources. If you qualify then they assist with money that is good! The best part is the pay only for extractions and medically needy hospital extractions.
